Happy New Year

Happy 2010 everyone. Jack put on a little bit of wait and gave us our New Year's wish. He starts off the year at 3 lbs (1390 g). I guess it's good when I don't have a lot to report here, as the case is today. They are very slowly weening him off of his vapotherm machine. He is now down to 3 liters per minute oxygen flow and seems to be doing well. He is still eating and pooping like a champ, hopefully it stays that way and he packs on the ounces. They are keeping an eye on his red blood cell count. They need for him to start producing his own red blood cells so they won't have to give him a transfusion. He is getting daily iron and another med I can't remember the name of to help him produce some red cells.

Aside from that is was just another day of slow steady progress. I got to do about 45 minutes of kangaroo time and Jack seemed to do very well. Here's to slow and steady improvement.
